What happened?

On 15 October 2026 LinkedIn announced a set of creator and profile features, which PPC Land covered on 19 October. The biggest is an In-Stream Ads test. Invited US creators can earn revenue when pre-roll video ads play before their eligible videos, and select US advertisers are taking part. LinkedIn has not disclosed the revenue split, eligibility rules or ad formats, and says broader access will come later. Advice Sessions let US Business Premium subscribers sell paid one-to-one consultations from their profiles, with LinkedIn handling booking, payments and video calls. A new creator dashboard brings analytics and earning tools together and is rolling out globally. LinkedIn is also testing a network feed that shows posts from connections and followed accounts, in markets including the US, India and Australia. Other additions include digital business cards, private profile notes for Premium subscribers and pinned comments.

Why it matters for businesses

Most of the monetisation features are US-only for now, but they show where LinkedIn is heading. It wants professionals to publish more video and treat LinkedIn as a place to earn from expertise. For Indian founders, consultants and B2B brands, this points to video and consistent personal-brand content becoming more valuable on the platform. The global creator dashboard will let Indian creators see their performance more clearly. The India network-feed test could also change how much reach connection-based posts get compared with viral content.

How businesses can use this update

- Start publishing short native videos from founders or subject experts, since LinkedIn is building ad monetisation around video. - Use the creator dashboard once it reaches your account to find which topics and formats drive followers and profile visits. - Pin a useful comment, such as a resource link or offer, on high-performing posts when the feature becomes available. - Grow genuine connections with your target buyers, since the network-feed test puts weight on posts from people you are connected to.

Pacewalk expert note

Don't plan revenue around In-Stream Ads yet. It is an invite-only US test with no published terms. For Indian businesses, the real opportunity is the direction it signals. LinkedIn rewards consistent, expert-led video and an active network. Build a monthly content rhythm around real questions your clients ask, and judge it by enquiries and meetings, not only likes.
